In September 2014 we embarked on a journey to record a concept album at The Grove Studios, an idea we’ve had for a while. Embrace is the first single to be released from the forthcoming concept album called “Mother Mourned”, a personal story about our experiences growing up caring for mothers with illness and the emotional journey of working through innocence, despair, grief and release.
We’re pleased to announce that “Embrace” is now up on Reverbnation and available to download from iTunes and Google Play (where you can preview additional songs from the album, “Release Me” and “Now”).
Embrace is about holding onto childhood innocence and embracing the inner child through change and turmoil. The track was produced with the help of Josh Telford, Paul Iannuzzelli, mixed by Peter Holz and mastered at Studios 301 by Steve Smart. It is currently receiving radio play on community radio stations around Australia via AMRAP’s AirIT initiative.
We hope you enjoy listening to it, the full album is due out later this year and we are currently producing an animation music video clip to add to the experience and concept behind the song.

UBERfest! festival exceeded all expectations for the launch of our single Embrace, the first single from the forthcoming concept album “Mother Mourned”. The atmosphere was vibrant, matching the eclectic mix of talented bands that played on the night.
The crowd enjoyed the rockin’ tunes of bands like Kim Killspeed and Tripping Cognito, along with the grooves of DR Malone and Little Coyote. Laura and the Blackjacks swooned the audience with their upbeat mix of rock/blues bliss. We then hit the stage at 8pm to a receptive crowd that grooved and were mesmerised by our passionate folk rock fusion.
A great vibe at The Bull & Bush Hotel on January 15. Andy Illinois opened the night with the sweet sounds of his passionate, acoustic roots music, followed by the rockin tunes of Tripping Cognito. Piperlain then hit the stage with our blend of pop/rock/folk and 90’s influenced, acoustic sound, followed by Air Force Kid, enchanting the audience with their impressive live performance and melodic rock.
